Oscars Red Carpet & Awards 2016
Hello Oscars 2016!! Our glamorous round up of the red carpet, our favourite couple and our favourite winner!
The 88th Academy Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles last night. We could not take our eyes off the fashion on the red carpet. Hollywood’s most talented actors and actresses walked the red carpet and looked absolutely flawless.
The most adorable couple of the night award has to go to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. The mom-to-be rocked a beautiful, red-beaded Marchesa gown and was all smiles walking down the red carpet with her handsome hubby.
One of our favourite looks of the night was the stunning Australian Naomi Watts, wearing a blue and purple strapless sequinned Armani Prive gown. She paired the gorgeous dress with an out-of-this world Bulgari necklace.
Rooney Mara looked Goth chic wearing an incredible long-sleeve gown by Givenchy with slicked back hair and a dark lip. Olivia Wilde wore one of our favourite gowns – a sleeveless, plunging ivory Valentino dress – completing her look with an unbelievable choker. We fell in love with Best Actress nominee Cate Blanchett’s ethereal pale blue floral Armani Prive gown, embellished with teal and pale pink flowers.
Another stunner on the red carpet was the always-beautiful Sofia Vergara in a navy blue Marchesa gown. Margot Robbie channelled the Oscars with a stunning gold Tom Ford gown.
Lady Gaga, nominated for her song, If It Happens to You, rocked a white pantsuit by Brandon Maxwell. Best Actress nominee Jennifer Lawrence wore a strapless Dior number. Speaking of, Charlize Theron, looked unbelievable in a red Dior dress, with a low V-cut. She paired the look with a gorgeous necklace and her hair swept up.
Mindy Kaling looked regal in a black and cobalt blue dress by Elizabeth Kennedy. Priyanka Chopra was striking in a white and beige strapless Zuhair Murad gown. Finally, Jared Leto wore a black and red tuxedo by Gucci, channeling his character from the upcoming blockbuster Suicide Squad.
And the Winners Are…
Best Supporting Actress winner Alicia Vikander wore a yellow Louis Vuitton, channeling Belle, the princess from Beauty and the Beast. Best Actress winner, Brie Larsen, stunned in a floor-length navy blue Gucci gown. She wore her hair half up half down and paired the look with a bold red lip. Leonardo DiCaprio, who finally won Best Actor (and much deserved!) looked elegant as always in Armani. Leo and Kate, wearing Ralph Lauren, walked the red carpet together and fulfilled all of our fantasies from almost 20 years ago (Titanic forever!!!).
