London Fashion Week started with a great honour, Nathalie Massenet, the genius that created net-a-porter.com was recognized with a damehood, which she was awarded by Prince Charles. She then went on to give the opening speech for London Fashion Week. She embodies the strong modern woman, both empowering and sophisticated in her custom Ralph & Russo suit.
The shows embodied the effortless cool we expect from London headed by Mulberry and Burberry. Whimsy was to be found in abundance at Ashish, Preen & Mark Katrantzou. David Koma & Paul Smith showcased slick fashion, while Alexander McQueen blew us away with sheer gowns and gorgeous leather.

Burberry had a very edgy, laid-back show exemplifying all that is true London cool.
Alexander McQueen had a gorgeous collection, with red carpet worthy sheer dresses, gorgeous leather jackets for the fall and butterflies galore.
This collection had romance and childlike wonder a touch of Alice in Wonderland with Romeo & Juliet.
Ashish was all about fun & games. Colour blocked sequin dresses, were combined with colour matching afros & lipsticks. It was the funnest show to watch!
Preen by Thornton Bregazzi had gorgeous pink sparkles, a touch of oversized silhouettes and some adult edge.
Paul Smith A/W 16 showcased a refined, classic collection with a touch of red.
This collection had slick, classy looks for the modern woman.
